With the current Nu Metal revival, bringing us new Nu Metal and Industrial Metal bands, along with the currently emerging Nu Metalcore genre, here are 7 Nu Metalcore/Nu Metal revival bands.
Drawing inspiration from Pantera, Megadeth, Slipknot and Marilyn Manson, Nu Metal band Cane Hill released two releases in 2016, their debut self-titled EP and the LP Smile.
Their self-titled effort is technically proficient drawing from the sound used by Slipknot, Dope and Mudvayne, where as Smile follows a more Industrial Metal formula reminiscent of Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie and Static-X, with a Shock Rock aesthetic.
Fire From The Gods
Rise Records band Fire From The Gods, are fronted by Rapper, Screamer, Clean Vocalist AJ Channer. Additionally the band draw from the Nu Rap side of Nu Metal, with a sound similar to Ill Niño or P.O.D. (however with a Metalcore-tinge).
Of Mice & Men
Formed by ex-Attack Attack! vocalist Austin Carlile, Of Mice & Men began including Nu Metal influences into their sound on 2014’s Restoring Force.
However while Restoring Force maintained the band’s Metalcore edge, 2016’s Cold World seems to be heading for full Nu Metal territory, with songs like Pain, Real and Contagious being reminiscent of Slipknot’s self-titled and Iowa.
Unlocking The Truth
Formed in 2007 by the now fifteen year olds Malcolm Brickhouse, Alec Atkins and Jarad Dawkins in Brooklyn, New York, Unlocking The Truth draw inspiration from Metallica, Slipknot and Disturbed to create their Metalcore-tinged Nu Metal sound.
My Ticket Home
Rise Records band (yes, another one) My Ticket Home, took on the Nu Metal style on their 2013 effort Strangers Only. Additionally influences from Slipknot, Mudvayne and Dope can be heard with in their sound.
With audible influences of Bring Me The Horizon, Slipknot and Marilyn Manson, American Nu Metalcore band, Sworn In are currently unsigned, however the future seems to hold big things for them.
